I have to type in bitlocker every time i startup my machine

Hi All,

I have a HP revolve g1 laptop that keeps asking for a bitlocker everytime I start up my machine. Can you please advise how to solve this issue.

You need to offer more details.

-Did you change anything regarding the bios/uefi of the machine? Like changing boot settings or updating the bios?
-Could you share whether your installation is UEFI based or not?
-Could you please share if you are using a TPM as protector and if so, which version 1.2 or 2.0?

No i did not changed anything. I guess this has to be done by the HP or Windows update.

I am not sure about the TPM. The laptop is not with me now.

What are the options? i guess we need to change something on the BIOS, ins't it?

Ok... let's see, I guess I can guide you to find this info:

1 press your start button and type tpm.msc and launch what windows finds (TPM management) by right clicking it and selecting "run as administrator".
2 expand the middle section so that everything it it can be read and make a screenshot and upload it.
3 right click c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe and select "run as administrator". CMD opens and you need to launch
list disk

Open in new window

Now share the output. I only need to now whether there is an asterisk ("*") in the GPT column or not.

Thanks for your time chaps. I have to disable the bitlocker on the user laptop and i think that the user is happy because he cannot give his laptop due to busy schedule. From not is sorted.
You'll need to return to this problem. If the laptop is stolen now, who do you think will be made responsible :-)
