Google Calendar vs iCloud Calendar vs Outlook Calendar

In a service industry environment where it is legal office with several lawyers or plumbing company with several service technicians,  I noticed that some use online calendar such as Google Calendar or Apple iClould Calendar and wanted to sync with their Outlook software.
I like to know why people use Google Calendar or Apple iClould Calendar instead of using Outlook Calendar if they already have Outlook?
What does Google Calendar or Apple iCloud Calendar provide that Outlook Calendar does not provide?

To answer that question, you might first consider what type of smartphones they are using. iPhone users might save their calendars on iCloud while Android users might use Google Calendar. Technically speaking, these three calendar services are equal in terms of user functions. Google and Apple might have an advantage since they have an ecosystem dedicated to their products and services. Apple and Google also offers a simple user interface when compared to Outlook. Non-tech savvy users might find Google/Apple's offering easier to use.

Take iCloud for example, an iPhone user might save all the calendars and contact on their iPhone and these data are synced automatically with iCloud and the rest of his Apple devices, including Mac and iPad. Outlook on the other hand doesn't have this ecosystem as Microsoft has abandoned their mobile division, and most recently separated its Windows division.

When Comparing Google Calendar vs Microsoft Outlook :

  • Google Calendar provides  5 different views - schedule, day, 3-day, week and month.
  • Google Calendar works on the web, & has advantages over Microsoft Outlook which is installed on a Personal Computer
  • Also, Google Calendar is more easy to share across diff devices & control access to users like you can share with colleagues, family etc
  • You can Subscribe to shared calendars that others have created & you can view all the calendars in one place, & discriminate each by colour code, for easy access.

And as suggested by Qian Bao , If you are a Android user it will help you integrate with phone's calendar.
For example, if you are entering any appoinmtment in phone calendars , it will get synced automatically on you Google Calendar.
