Email ended up in gmail junk folder

And no read receipt

Delivery to these recipients or groups is complete, but no delivery notification was sent by the destination server:

The issue with read receipts is an external provider may or may not allow them.  In most cases read receipts are blocked by providers to prevent spammers from phishing for valid email addresses or not supported based on the mail server used.

Another thought is it may be that the sent message was marked as spam on Gmail that the read receipt didn't send.  I would write list the email address and try again ensuring it doesn't go to the junk mail folder.

If you have an @gmail.com address then no. If you have an account that uses the gmail backbone, you can, but then only if the recipient has the feature turned on. Many people, myself included, turn off read receipts.
