Outlook 2016 on pc repeatedly asking for OFFICE365 password

Hi

In the last week I have had a number of clients experiencing an issue in outlook where it keeps asking for the mailbox password despite being inserted several times - in some case the client had to insert it more than 4 times in a row before it successfully accepted it.

When the client returns to the pc next day and starts up outlook the same thing happens .
I have so far tried the following steps without success :
- create a new outlook profile
- remove the entry for the account in the vault within credential manager

Both users are running outlook 2016 in OFFICE365 exchange.
One is on windows 10 and the other 7.

Could someone please
A) explain why this can happen (as I am often asked but i am not sure what causes the password to be forgotten)

B) a possible solution to the frustration

Thanks

Are your DSN SPF settings updated/correct ??

Hi Don - I will check the DNS checker in the admin centre on office 365. I would have thought that those users would be getting their emails blocked and junked if the SPF records were not in place ? Why would
It impact the password ?
When you looked at the Credential Manager, I assume you cleared the Outlook entry under generic credentials?

But also, have you tried creating a new Outlook profile? Also check for any difference between those users and others (i.e. access to some strange shared calendar)
