KB4056894 Security Rollup Failure 0x80070057 Windows 7

I have a Windows 7 machine that will NOT install KB4056894 or any of the subsequent Rollups and I need help!  I'm at my end.

They are the ONLY updates to not install.  It will attempt to install, restart, and fail at 98%, then revert. 0x80070057

I have performed an in-place upgrade in an attempt to repair it.  I have manually downloaded the update and attempted to install.  I have renamed the SoftwareDistribution folder.  I have ran sfc /scannow (no issues) and the System Update Readiness Tool. Beyond a wipe and reload, I don't know what else to do.  Suggestions?

Try WSUS Offline.

http://download.wsusoffline.net/

There is a Windows 7 section (and others) and you can try installing current updates with that.

Here's the log from running WSUS Offline.

It installed a hotfix, but KB4056894 still failed.  Even though the log shows 4 updates installed successfully (before reboot).

I wonder if there is some compatibility issue here. Make sure BIOS, Chipset and Video drivers are all updated. If you do updates , try again

Okay, this is just odd now.  I updated the Video driver from 13.3 to 15.2.  Also, WSUS Offline did change my Windows Updates.  Now there is NO updates to install (required), but yet I can attempt to install KB4056894.  Of course, it still fails.  I don't like to ignore Updates, but does it mean my system no longer needs this update?  It's not listed as installed in Programs and Features area either (installed updates)

There is a recommendation below not to install this update on some CPUs.  Maybe just wait until May Patch Tuesday. No harm will come from not installing in the near term.

Okay, now I'm back to my original issue.  I had uninstalled Avast! in an attempt to have the update go through.  Well, putting Avast! back on made it want the update again.  Of course, the update is still failing.

Unfortunately, the customer did not want to reload or be without their computer any longer.  The issue still exists, but we have turned OFF Windows Updates for the foreseeable future.  Thank you for your assistance.
