ssl certificate on linux

Hi,

Would you be able to guide me with the below query:

I have been provided with public ip and port no. to access an ubuntu server over the internet.

How can i access a particular service on the server with a subdomain name instead of ip
 eg:   http:\\192.167,47.22:80\jira
         http:\\sales.abc.com\jira

Also how do i create a ssl certificate on the subdomain  to make it more secure

eg:  https:\\sales.abc.com\jira

Thanks
