Quick access pinned items keep disappearing (Windows 10)

Hi,

A Windows 10 user keeps losing this 'pinned' quick access shortcuts. The pinned items stay for a couple of days before disappearing.
We have another 20 users using Windows 10 and none of them are experiencing this. What could be causing this?

I have tried following instructions in this article; https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/3f60l6/broken_quick_access/

Thanks

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

create a new user profile, does it have the same issue?
also, withen the link, there is this solution, did you tried it?
Had an issue with Quick Access not working aswell, finally managed to fix this by going to these 2 folders and removing all files within them.

%AppData%\Microsoft\windows\recent\automaticdestinations

%AppData%\Microsoft\windows\recent\customdestinations

Hi, Yes I have tried creating a new user profile and the issue still persisted. I have also tried following the solution in the article I mentioned.

Thanks

Have they pinned more than 20 items?  That is the limit for Quick Access.  Old items are removed.

Hi,

No, we tried pinning 1 item after it had removed the previous ones and within a week it had disappeared.

Thanks

Try first a complete uninstall/reinstall of Office. restart in between.

If that does not work, find the Microsoft Media Creation Link, choose the second option, click on download and select Run in place. Keep Everything
