How to configure vnc for outside of network connection
I currently use ultravnc to connect to machines within our network but I need to use it to connect to laptops outside of our network.
The machines could be a anywhere from a home to a library so I cannot modify the firewalls to allow access.
Is there a way to configure vnc to connect in this type of environment or what other products like vnc exist that allow this type of connection.
Any software should not require the person to interact with it to make the connection.

I use IPsec VPN for this purpose to make a secure connection from anywhere to the office.
If you want to stick with VNC then John's IPSec recommendation is the way to go. You can use IPSec if supported by your network firewall, Microsoft's VPN offerings via routing and remote access, OpenVPN, NeoRouter, and others. There are some technical and learning hurdles in implementing any of these solutions but they'd all do the trick.

Logmein Rescue seems to be the simplest solution. We will install a calling card on the users machines, then they only have to use it to connect to us
