OpenVPN Client as Virtual Machine

I would like to route certain traffic from my home out of an OpenVPN AS server located in our datacenter. Since my router doesn't support VPN, and my home is on a Dynamic public IP, I am thinking of running a VM that can connect to the VPN. Then, I would add a static route in my router that routes all traffic to certain locations out the VPN. Was thinking I could run PFsense. Any other ideas as the most simple way to do this as a VM?

yeah,
Your option is good either you can use Zentyal or any other BSD versions. OR install any linux distro and install openvpn
Any router VM should do fine, e.g running SoftEther. Even Windows with RRAS works ;-). The router needs to be able to apply NAT, though.
Of course you will have to create corresponding routes on your current default gateway to redirect related traffic to the VM.
