where can I find blogs of individuals needing help with cover letters and resumes?

Hello and Good Evening Everyone,

I am wondering where I can go online to find blog postings of individuals needing help with designing and creating cover letters and resumes.

         Thank you

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi George,

Can you clarify if "you" want to find a blog with helpful resume` templates you can download and use, or are you trying to find a site where people are asking for help to design their own resume` so that you can assist them? I suspect the former, but your question is worded in such a way that I'm not certain of your meaning.

In the case of the former, to find some great resources for resume` templates, I would suggest (and I'm not trying to be smart here) "Google" Try entering the following search terms into Google or your own preferred search engine.

  • Free resume templates
  • Download resume templates
  • Microsoft Word resume templates
  • Professional resume templates

Do you get the idea? The above search terms alone will return a huge number of results that you can explore.

To search for "Cover letters" rather than Resume` templates/examples, replace the word "resume" in the examples I've given above with "cover letters".

As to which is the best place/blog to go to, then that will always be a subjective call. What you may think is great might seem pretty ordinary to me or the next person. Best to explore yourself.

One last thing, I'd highly recommend avoiding "Paid" sites for this type of search. There are so many free downloads available, the ones you need to pay for are unlikely to offer anything unique - unless you want to pay someone to create a resume and cover letter for you from scratch, tailored exactly to your own unique experiences and specifications.

I hope that's helpful.

Regards, Andrew

Hi Andrew,

I apologize my question is somewhat ambiguous in nature.  Basically, I am needing tips for searching blogs which have comments of individuals requesting assistance in the design and creation of both, cover letters and resumes.  That said, I am uncertain with respect to the search criteria terms or keywords to use when carrying out my Google search.  I would like to use search terms which are highly targeted so I can see results on the first page of Google if possible.

             Thank you

Hi George,

In simple terms, enclosing search terms in quotes "Like this" tells Google to only include pages where the words "like this" appear together, exactly as written, such as in my example here.

Alternatively, I would also strongly encourage you to try the powerful "Advanced Search" functionalities of Google. Check out the following link;

I hope that's helpful.

I have just emailed the owner of Blue Sky Resumes (see John's earlier link) regarding her page entitled "What is the Best Format for a Resume in 2018? (Here are 3 Awesome Examples)" with regard to her misspelling of the word "bullet" despite boasting about having had 10 years of professional resume writing.

Yes it seems pedantic, but why would I trust somebody who charges for resume writing but cannot use a spell checker:
"the best way to show them this is to write action-packed accomplishment bulet points".

There are many so-called companies with online presence who charge for resume and similar writing services despite having web pages that are riddled with bad spelling and grammar errors, so don't automatically trust people who seem to be professional and abreast of current trends.

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for taking the time to address my question.    As mentioned earlier, I am afraid that my question was a bit unclear or vague.  My goal here is to simply locate blogs which have an open discussion about resume and cover letter creation.  The blogs of interest would need to be current and have much traffic.   I am not sure all of this explanation matters much now because Andrew pointed me in the right direction with what I had in mind.

           Thanks again.
