MS Outlook use without Exchange Server

Hello,

I'm wondering if it's possible, without having an Exchange Server to do the following:

- I have one desktop computer.
- Have multiple users use Remote Desktop to connect (Do I need a server, or can this be done with a regular Desktop computer?)
- Then have each user open up an instance of Outlook.
- Finally have all users use a shared Task folder.

I appreciate anybody's time with this.

You need Exchange or Hosted Exchange (lower cost for small number of users) to do what you want.

Individual Outlook is not for sharing like this and sharing PST files on a network can damage the PST file.

Thank you for that John.  I suppose I should ask GoDaddy this, but can I ask you first?  Those tech support people can be a little frustrating.

We bought some email accounts through GoDaddy that run on MS Exchange server.  I currently have a customized task form that I run on my own computer.  Do you think it's possible to run my customized form from their server?  Do you know how that works?  Do you run Outlook locally and connect to their server, or do you connect directly through their website or server?

Sorry, I'm a programmer, but don't have a lot of experience with connectivity and servers.

I use Outlook locally and connect to my email ISP. If your task / procedure is part of Outlook it should work as you describe
I think we're just down to two questions.

- For multiple people to remote desktop in and use Outlook, do I need a server, or can this be done on a desktop?
- For the tasks, does the .pst file reside with GoDaddy on their server?
