Windows 10 bitlocker

We are having an issue with the last batch of windows 10 HP probook laptops. We use McAfee to encrypt our laptops. This recent batch fails the encryption process because Windows Bitlocker has encrypted the drive. We have to UN-encrypt the drive with a command McAfee gave me  to then encrypt the drive. This process takes most of the day. I was wondering if there was an easier way to do this. Not sure why bitlocker enabled itself out of the box.

See the end of the page for how to disable this.
Depending on your relationship with HP they can image their system to include the PreventDeviceEncryption flag
