Hard drives are cheap. &nbsp;SMART is FAR from 100% accurate. &nbsp;If a drive is behaving strangely and you care about the data stored on it or the computer running off it, REPLACE IT. &nbsp;Trying to &quot;confirm&quot; a drive is failing given the costs involved in data recovery or lost productivity is a fools errand in my opinion.

I agree. Not sure why SMART kept popping up? I prefer other tools to that but laptop would not allow me to get to the drive. I had planned to get into safe mode to see if I could that way but had to leave the classroom due to testing that was going on. Thanks. I greatly appreciate the comment. It adds to the knowledge I may not yet have but do now.
