Excel 2016- Opening up documents that have a blank screen

I have an issue where Excel files opens to a blank screen, but can be opened w/ File>Open and select that file, the file opens up correctly.

I tried the View tab and selecting the Unhide\Hid option and that did not change anything.

Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Start Excel, wait 5 seconds, File, open the document. Does it work?

If you try to work too quickly, Excel is blank.
cmdolcetAuthor Commented:

If I do that yes it opens every time. It opens every time even if I dont wait the 5 seconds, but the process you outlined above works.

Now if I open the Excel from the link it open blank, I wait and wait and still blank. If I finally get tired and go to file open I can open the excel document and it loads correctly.

but the process you outlined above works.

It appears to be a bug in Excel and I have learned to work around it.

I don't think there is much else you can do.

You will probably find that an Update to Office 2016 in due course will fix this.

What do you mean we are all running O365 with the latest updates and this does not happen on my PC, even using the same link
JohnBusiness Consultant (Owner)Commented:
Could also be Video update requirements. I have see this effect before.
cmdolcetAuthor Commented:

However why would everything else work except for that process. What is throwing me for a loop is that it open using the File >Open method?

I don't have any other ideas at this point. You might try a full repair of Office
