setup SSO for local 2012 AD server and Office 365, no ADFS option

Office 365 Full Cloud and 2012 AD server. Right now both passwords for the network and Office 365 totally separate, all good so far.
Is it possible to setup SSO without ADFS system. Setup something for the current system?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Ta for the reply man
They use sharepoint in the cloud, office apps online at times and have a third party software that connects to their Sharpeointalso.
Would i need to use the pass through option on this or can i still use the Password Sync option?

What is the more basic option actually the Password Sync or the Pass-Through?
Never mentioned either Office 365 has Multi Factor Authenciation enabled also

Password sync is more basic, both in terms of setting it up and the end-user experience. You can use MFA with either option.
