Ideal small-business virtual environment.

Ideal small-business virtual environment.
Hello All. I was wondering if you guys could possibly tell me what the typical set of virtual servers you would expect to see on a well-implemented server 2016 Hyper-V host.
I can imagine that it would contain at least 1 DC/DNS server, a web server and an SQL server but what else should it contain?
Should I have a file server?
Is there a backup appliance that will also handle the Android and IOS devices as well as the host?
I ave access to a copy of System Center- should I install a trial?
I plan on having a Plex and an Owncloud appliance.
Anything else?

Well it totally depends what is your requirement. What kind of Servers with Roles you want to install? Could you please let us know more about your business requirements.
I would not recommend System Center for under 1000 seats. It is a great suite of products but each part is rather complex to setup properly.. Once you've gotten over these hurdles then they are a great timesaving product. Mobile devices should be managed and no files should be stored locally but stored on the cloud or on your network.

there is a school of thought that even PC's should not store business data locally but on a server.  This way you backup the server ONLY.   This way you control what you can control and are not responsible for a cleaner that unplugs a computer to run the vacuum.  That or having to enable WOL and wake up machines to back them up during the off hours.

Define small business? 25 or less seats?
Hyper-V host + Domain controller in VM  + 2nd VM Everything else.
How big is the small environment?  Each piece you pointed out is a maybe?  Even a DC is not needed, and may just add complexity to a small site of 10 computers.  You could use homegroups.  SQL, do you need a database or webserver server?  Or are you just increasing your security risk.

Might even consider a cloud/office365 implementation as well.  They have cloud everything now.  Again depends on the requirements.

But if I was to setup a "small business" I would ideally want two physical servers, two domain controllers (will have dns), and a file server.  Then a backup solution either local or cloud depending on bandwidth.  Which brings up getting a good firewall, sonicwall, Sophos UTM or Cisco ASA, or the like.  Avoid cheap junk.  Also forgetting a good AV solution, small environment I would recommend Sophos Central backup, cloud solution.
It depends on the number of users in the company.

10 users would see a DC and a Remote Desktop Server hosting the Broker, Gateway, Web, and Session Host Roles to allow for full remote access plus RemoteApps.

For larger firms we'd deploy a DC, Exchange, RDS, and LoB VM to host files, folders, and any backend database driven app setups like Inuit or Sage.
