"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I would recommend logitech.  They always get good reviews on everything they make.

tx >McKnife - any reason for using blutooth?
Don't know, connects very easily, that's all I can say, can be used from a distance of at least 10m, so it should fit your needs - sound is good for the size and price.
Bluetooth is generally the way to go. Easy to use, can easily pair with phones as well. But it also comes down to your exact requirement. Do you need a multispeaker setup? Do you plan to move it around?

Logitech has nice ones, Skullycandy ones work too but sometimes are a slight nuisance initially.

If you’re playing off a laptop, stick with Bluetooth. WiFi is for streaming audio direct, no laptop required like the sonos one

Fair enough. I'd go the Sonos route for a Wi-Fi one. Hadn't worked much with other ones, but I haven't had much reason to look at other Wi-fi speaker systems given that they've worked that well.

If portability mattered and/or you just wanted to go cheap with 1-2, then I'd go Bluetooth.

starting at 250 - and up to over 700 euro seems a bit steep for me; but the site has a bit of info over wifi vs blutooth
The magnets in the speakers gives the quality of deeper bass surround sound.
Expensive doesn't always give the best. So  you have good variety to pick from.
Amazon is a really good place for me to find out users experience and ratings. What problems or whats great. Even post video..
The quality of the media player and the mp3 adds to good sound output.
2 speakers is good enough 3 gets may be too much for power and space.
With a Laptop the ports used also determine how direct sound is used from the onboard sound card.
You know you can use USB?
I'd suggest bring your laptop into a store that sells good speakers whether USB or BT. Test them
I like the Logitech speakers with front headsets and mic.
There is also a speaker called a Soundbar

Please browse pictures and click on link provided of any that grab you.
All the best and if you pick out some and need more help postback

i know i can use USb, but there are very limited number of ports - requiring an extra hub
tx for the info anyway
Nobus there is USB hubs, here's a 4 port USB hub  idea with an extended cable to plug into the laptop you can browse.
nobusAuthor Commented:
i know these, Merete, but it adds to cost and is a bitcontradictionary, since the idea was "wireless"
