Hello, I have a problem watching High rate 4K video with VLC 3.0.2 64bits .
the video is not smooth.
I tried to change the cache of the hard disk but didn't help. (from 300ms to 900ms)

the PC is new and very,  strong so no reason I can't do it ...

Disable the default "Hardware-accelerated decoding"  in VLC, let it use your GPU instead.

Does the video stream use x265 compression?

ASKER

I disabled the default hardware accelerated decoding.

I don't know what is the coding of the video. the file is a .mkv of 64 Gb for 2:30 hours

just to clarify that I successfully watched this video in the past, and accidently I reseted the default setting of VLC .....

attached 2 printscreen if it can help ...

I am having the same problem too with x.265 it just won't play on the VLC.
I have also installed KLite Codec pack but it doesn't help.
resolved the problem by myself
