Mailbox Move During Backup

Hey all - i am doing some mailboxes move from Exch 2010 to Exch 2016, now im in the middle of a huge mailbox, if the exchange 2010 backups (it usually does a application consistency check and i believe takes exchange down) - i'd imagine this would interfere with the mailbox move?

If it takes exchange down then yes.  But most good exchange backup programs don't do that. Good ones have a VSS writer for exchange that do a consistent snapshot while keeping it live.

Should not be taking down exchange then. If you k ow it has been then three is likely a deeper issue. What makes you think it does?

Does it show an error? Even if exchange were down, IIS and the application pool should be up and would report a reasonable error. If lot  that'd point to an IIS issue, not an exchange one.
