mysql how to unlock a register after a failed SQL UPDATE

Hello Experts,
I got a failed SQL UPDATE.
now the record is locked and does not let me update any more..
I have restarts the server machine... but still the lock

What can I do to regain control of that record ? how to unlock it ?

in a situation where your update process did not check the status to clear the lock....

See if the articles covers the configuration you haven't?

backup, restore db under a different name, then check whether you can update the record under the new name.  That might be your only option.

Which MySQL version?

Check  the process list, from that get the locked process  ID and kill it

show processlist;

 kill put_process_id_here;
