How to remove defunct .VMRS files after a Hyper-V VM has been deleted

Using Windows 2016 Hyper-V I have created a couple of VMs and a Test VM so that I can prove my backup and restore process.
I have successfully backed up my Test VM and so have now deleted it using the Hyper-V Manager. Using Windows Explorer I have also deleted its associated Test.vhdx file. However, there are some .VMRS files that I can't delete because they are in use
Delete errorHow can I remove these files

Hello,

Manually delete the entire folder where the vm files are stored.

remember that the vmrs file contains runtime status data for the virtual machine.

It does not allow you to delete the file, because the hypervisor on it understands that the vm is still running, so go to the directory of the vm and delete all the folder related to the vm that you want to delete
