Will cancelling a VM migration from one Datastore-a to another Datastore-b cause any problems

I am moving a VM from Datastore-A to Datastore-B. Before I migrated to a new store, I powered off the VM and I them I right clicked the VM and clicked Migrate and it is taking long time to migrate and it has progressed only to 50% after 20 hours and now I am thinking to cancel the migration.

In the Vsphere Console – Recent tasks- Relocate virtual machine- If I right click this task I get an option for Cancel.

If I cancel, will any corruption happen and end up with a problem.
Please suggest.

yes you can cancel with no issues no corruption will be encountered but check for snapshots after cancel!

unless process has hung and then youve got some more issues to deal with!

Hi Andrew

I cancelled the migrating and powered on the server and the server is up and running now.
I may have to plan the migration of the server to another datastore another time taking sufficient downtime from management.

Thanks you so much for your suggestions!
