"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Probably best to contact BitPay.com

They will be able to guide your step-by-step from setting up an account to accepting payments.

At present it is not practical to accept $B directly as payment for small (i.e., less than $US 1000) transactions.  This is because small purchasers want immediate transfer of goods and yet it can take up to a day (or longer) for a $B transaction to be confirmed.  At one point earlier this year there were transactions waiting for months.  (The speed at which transactions are confirmed depends on how much the "purchaser" is willing to pay for quick confirmation.)

So you'll need to go through a third party service to accept $B in your business, and their vigorish / rake-off / service charge will probably be quite considerable due to the risk involved in aggregating transactions for up to several days.

In ideal circumstances an Ethereum transaction takes under 20 seconds, and sometimes due to congestion transactions may take longer. You can view the average blocktime here: https://etherscan.io/chart/blocktime.
