I am &nbsp;new in SCVMM &nbsp;( hyper-v ) and comes from VMware background. i have &nbsp;recently been tasked &nbsp;to create to development server from critical running VM's &nbsp;in cluster environment. &nbsp;i have looked into this but cannot find snapshot operation the reason we are using System Centre 2012 Virtual machine manager where it only gives option for checkpoint. <br />
&nbsp;My question is &nbsp;checkpoint is similar to snapshot and how &nbsp;I can safely &nbsp;create two development server using &nbsp; Two live production VM's ,.<br />
Please can any one expert on hyper-v en light &nbsp;best way to achive this.<br />

I am  new in SCVMM  ( hyper-v ) and comes from VMware background. i have  recently been tasked  to create to development server from critical running VM's  in cluster environment.  i have looked into this but cannot find snapshot operation the reason we are using System Centre 2012 Virtual machine manager where it only gives option for checkpoint. 
 My question is  checkpoint is similar to snapshot and how  I can safely  create two development server using   Two live production VM's ,.

SCVMM Server 2012 Snapshot option.

Virtualization is the act of creating a virtual (rather than actual) version of something, including (but not limited to) a virtual computer hardware platform, operating system (OS), storage device, or computer network resources. Virtualization is usually the creation of a system that executes separate from the underlying hardware resources, or the creation of an entire desktop for systems located elsewhere, similar to thin clients.

A server computer running Hyper-V can be configured to expose individual virtual machines to one or more networks. Hyper-V Server supports remote access via Remote Desktop Connection. Administration and configuration of the host OS and the guest virtual machines is generally done over the network.
