Replicate from Live VM's or from the last Backup of the VM's

I use Veeam Backup & Replication to Backup all my VM's and Replicate them to my DR site.

I'm currently Replicating from a the live VM's.  I would just like to know from best practices should continue to Replicate from the live VM's or Replicate from the last Backup of the VM's?

Thanks.

Your VMs will be available quicker to restart should production fail if you have a DR site, if they are all replicated, ready to be powered on.

Yes, I understand that.

However, there is two types of Replication (replication from backup or from live VM).

I was asking what is recommended, should I Replicate from the Backup or from the Live VM's?

Thanks.

Less overhead and less performance issues replicating from Backups, but the disadvantage is Backups may not be as current as Live.

It's whatever suits your environment best.....
