Standalone open source or commerical software which uses Google OCR Cloud Vision API
Standalone open source or commerical software which uses Google OCR to be used.
Assume i bought and have the valid Google Vision API credentials and would like to know does any standalone open source or commercial client is available which is already integrated with Google Vision API which has other features as well.
Basically want to convert image to text....bulk conversion etc. via an application,
Thanks.

Can you provide some more clarification? For now, put aside which api to use or how it will be done. What you mean by convert an image to text? Can you provide some example images you want to convert and detail the expected output?

Convert a old book to text.
> ...bulk conversion etc. via an application,
It looks like Joe has given you the way perhaps for a one-off situation.
Now you are looking to use the api. The first step is to go to Google Developer console and register your app and get your credentials s://console.cloud.google.c om. Once registered, you need to enable the api https://console.cloud.google.com/apis/library/vision.googleapis.com/
When you read the documentation, there will be some sample apps you can use as a base and I find it is easiest to do nothing except get the sample apps running in your own environment before doing anything else. That way if there are any issues you need to troubleshoot, you can almost be sure it is on your set up as the sample app you would think is ready to go. Once you have that working you start on your own workflow by modifying what is there or starting from scratch.
You will need to pick a language you feel comfortable with already and the docs show examples GO, Java, PHP, NET, Node, Python and Ruby. Do you have a good working knowledge of any of those languages?

Can i see the sample apps only after registration by credit card?
If you read the documentation, the sample apps are there for your use in order to get a quick start.
> Can i see the sample apps only after registration by credit card?
You shouldn't need a credit card. I don't ever remember using one for mine unless maybe it was for verification? It has been a long time since I registered. But I currently do not need to pay anything to use the api's because I don't go over the limits.

Even i don't have one to verify
Are you saying Google is requiring you to verify with your credit card? If you don't have a CC and that is the only option they are giving you, you may have to find somebody else to create a Google account for you as you will not be able to use the API without it.
Any luck getting a google account? Without it you may not be able to get this done.
