Word Count Google Sheets

In Column A, I have got an English sentence. In Column B, I'd like to get a Word Count of Column A. Is there a Simple formula or method to do this? Please provide simple instructions for a novice in Google sheets, thanks

Thank you for the answer provided - it does work, but the +1 at the end does add a default "1" in each relevant formulated block. By contrast, leaving out the +1 results in the word count being one word short.  Is there a way to modify the formula, so the word count defaults to zero, and isn't one word short at the same time?
Found what we were looking for, in this alternative formula: =if(A1="","",counta(split(A1," ")))  .
