The screenshot you posted shows the option key being pressed. I would check that neither of the option keys are stuck down.You could try gently prying the key tops off and cleaning under the keys. If it isn't a physical sticking of the key, then it is an electrical defect and the keyboard need to be replaced.

If the option key regiseters as depressed, then an external keyboard will not work. &nbsp;Did you spill something on your keyboard?
