Outgoung email processing

I want to clarify my underderstanding of the Email process to multile recipients as seen using MS Exchange versions.

I am wokring thru a problem for a client.  My understdning is that when a users send an email to multiple external recipients in the following context:
Recepients
  • John.Doe@company1.com
  • Jane.doe@company1.com
  • Billy.cart@company2.com

The sending server :
  • Sends each email recipient a separate copy of the email
  • does not group emails of the same domain (e.g. company1.com) as one email for the receiving server to "distribute" in its own processing

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

That is correct. Each recipient will receive a separate copy of the email regardless if it internal or external.
