Windows Server 2016 Standard with Essentials Role enabled.

I setup two Windows Server 2016 VMs, one of which has the Essentials Role enabled, and the other VM will be a database/file server.  I joined the second VM Windows Server 2016 Standard member server without using the http://servername/connect option, and the Essentials console does not show as a connected host to the AD Domain.  I joined the member server the regular way by using System\Advanced  System Settings\Computer Name Tab, Change Button\...

So it joined the domain without issue, and I am just wondering why it does not show up as a server within the Essentials console.  I've done this same thing on SBS2011/SBS2008 and I followed the same steps above and the server appears within the SBS Console.

I just want to know if Essentials works the same way or not, or whether additional servers simply do no the display the Essential console.
