Hp pro 200 map, scanner feature stop working with sonicwall firewall unit

We just installed sonicwall unit a couple days and our hp laserjet pro 200 scanner feature stop working. Before, we have been using that feature without any issues. The printer is wired connected on the network. The printer feature is working ok, but the scanner doesn't. Do we need to create a rule into sonicwall? How should be the steps to follow up? We have a sonicwall TZ300w. Please help!

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Do you have multiple VLAN?  If yes then you will need to create a rule.

If the scanner on the same network as the computer then you shouldn't need to open up any port on the Sonicwall.

Hi Javie, are you using WiFi to print?

I just can't see the Sonicwall being an issue if both the HP MFP and computer is on the same network because communication will not go thru the Sonicwall.  Unless if you are using WiFi printing/scanning then that makes sense.

Keep in mind that the scanner might be using DNS and rendezvous which might not work thru the firewall.
