trying to find a raid 1 card for win 10 pro that emails alerts

I am trying to find a raid 1 card, with at least 4 ports,  for win 10 pro that emails alerts. this machine will be headless and remote, so i need an email to be sent if it has some kind of problem with raid or smart etc.

Anyone got any ideas? my great hope, the Adaptec 2271700-R 6405E  does email alerts on linux, but not on windows!!

All help gratefully appreciated.

You can use Window's built in alert features in PerfMon.msc to generate alerts for specific counters for Physical disks or Logical disks connected to the RAID Adapter.
Open PerfMon.msc, select News -> Data Collector Set, Enter name for Set e.g. RAID Alert, select 'Create manually (advanced), select Performance Counter Alert, Click Add and add any appropiate counters to monitor and selec the Alert when above/below limits. Also configure SMTP/Email settings to send the alert text.

Rocket Raid, Adaptec. LSI Cards with MegaRAID storage manager
You may need to install SMTP (part of iis 6)

I think it will be rather hard to find a card that does not.
3ware/LSI do that for ages. All other controllers that I used (Dawicontrol, ICMP,...) did that.
Does the adaptec write to the windows eventlog at least? Hard to believe that it has this feature for linux only.

Thanks for the responses.

i do not want to have to set up email alerts by fault ID from a syslog, if every kind of alert possible for RAID isn't selected then one might get missed. I'd rather get it from the horses mouth....

I'm really looking for something that I can bung the smtp details of the mailserver and authentication in and it will send alerts.

i'm happy to spend £300 or so on a decent brand...

yes, that would be possible with any megaraid - and some are around 300 $

actually...before i go...are there any alternatives that are cheaper? i dont mind spending the (customers)  money (i'm looking at a MegaRAID SAS 9271-4i) but it does seem overkill...(but very nice as well)

You are looking at the current model as advertised by broadcom, right? Maybe an older model if you are trying to save. https://www.idealo.de/preisvergleich/ProductCategory/3088F224584-1080460-4547471.html?param.resultlist.sortKey=minPrice will list some, see what fits your needs.
