WSUS not working
WSUS not working properly. Lots of wsus pool errors in the event log (5011, 5012, 5013, 5017 and 5038). Cant get the console to load. w3wp.exe and sqlservr.exe using all of the CPU. Is there anything I can try before I reinstall?

I reset iis from the cmd prompt and internet connectivity is good. Not sure how to check sql authentication. And the instructions online aren't getting me there. Can you tell me how to check it on a Windows 2012 server?

Until I open IE then then IE uses up all the cpu. I just restarted World Wide Web Publishing service with IE closed. I opened wsus and it the cpu is going up and down but not freezing up. I'm going to monitor it for the next few hours.

WSUS is working, but synchronization is not working.
I would still like to limit the cpu usage for w3wp.exe. Is this possible?

Limiting the CPU usage isn't really an option, you really need to find out why the CPU is in a constant state of turmoil. There are a whole raft of things to check.
1. Updates, Have windows updates been installed. If so which ones? and has the problem occurred since they were installed.
2. Event logs, any obvious errors or warnings in the application or system logs
3. SQL best practices, I'm not entirely convinced one CPU is enough for SQL
4. SQL Authentication. SQL Authentication Check
5. Reset the IE Browser to default settings. IE Reset

I add some more ram. It now has 16 GB of RAM. I noticed the WSUS content folder is really growing. I'm going to open a new ticket on how to clean it out.
Thanks for your help.
