where is this error reported ?

from ESXi host or vCenter Server ?

Re-scanned HBA ?

Checked ACLs/LUN permissions, checked Security ? (MSCAP etc)

Thx Andrew for the quick reply as always.  The error is from the host.  It is a newly added host who just has 10G ISCSI and I was adding the host into the storage group on the Compellent that has hosts who use FC only and existing LUNs which are mapped to that group of hosts.  When I add in the new host it would try to stand but it would just be at state of "trying, and trying" and I would eventually just need to remove the new host from the storage group cluster.

Check Compellant logs, and configuration for this LUN
