Product Key Reverse Look up?

Hi Experts,

My company needs to purchase Visual Studio.  We have a previous version that is licensed but anyone that would know who it's registered too is long gone.  We are also unable to confirm purchase, we believe a outside company installed it.  We are still trying to verify purchase, it is a older version.

We need the key to get upgrade pricing.  I am able to retrieve all keys but is there a way to confirm that we own it or who the owner is without contacting Microsoft?  There are other keys I want to verify as well.

Thank you,

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The easiest way is to start the upgrade purchase, apply the key you retrieved and see if it works. Cancel out if not, proceed if it does.

If the key does not work, you may have to purchase the complete version.
