Is there a size limit on what can be printed out from one text field within Filemaker Pro?

When printing from Filemaker, there is a text field being used for notes but it keeps getting cut off after two pages. Is there a size limit on what can be printed out from one text field within Filemaker Pro?

The storage limit for a text field is 1 billion characters. The display limit is 64,000 but I'm guessing you have way fewer than that.

The likely answer is that you need to extend the bottom edge of the body Part as well as the text field (or text object if you're using a Merge Variable, so the longest possibly length you might need. So if you notes could be up to 10 pages long, you need to extend the bottom edge of the body part down that far - click and drag down - as well as increase the size of the text field (or text area if using a Merge field.)

To make sure you don't wind up printing lots of blank sheets when there is less than 10 pages, click the field in Layout mode and in the Inspector > Position tab > Sliding & Invisitbility section, select both Slide Up and Also resize enclosing part. Note that if there are any objects below the text field that are not also set to Slide Up, then you will wind up with lots of blank pages.

Thank you both. I tried your suggestion WIll but same thing. Even though the bounding box was stretched down, the cut off was at the same spot.
I will take a look at this article and follow up if there is a resolution.

If you want to send me a copy (or clone with some example reocrds) of the file, I'll take a quick look. If you click my name there is a place to send me a file directly under the EE messaging system without having to post it publicly.

Thanks WIll. Actually we looked further into the templates and I realized it was not making the changes to the correct one. Once we went in to Edit mode we can choose another "sub-template". Once we stretched the text field down and then set the Position tab to Slide Up and Resize the print came out perfect.

Thanks for your help.
