How do I completely shut down Skype?

When ever I close Skype by using the X in the upper righthand corner it continues to give me notifications.  How do I completely shut down Skype?  I tried using the task manager, but it is not listed.  I would need to restart it later so that I can use it.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Right click on Skype and select Exit Skype. As you noticed, closing Skype just minimizes it.

I think I figured it out.  If I sign out of skype then it should quit giving me notifications.  Correct?

For that version of Skype, choose Sign Out and it goes away. I just tested it. My earlier post was for Skype Desktop.
