Reboot is needed with configuraiton change for DB2

Hi,

You all now when MySQL has the configuration change, it has to reboot , how about DB2, reboot is needed with configuration change?

Yes, we need to restart Database Manager services for few configurations..

I post a lot of DB2 question today, please help to answer.

for very few only ? just like MS SQL and Oracle. I want to find a solution have much less downtime because of it.

you mean this section "Table 3. Configurable Database Configuration Parameters" and this column "Auto" ? which means setting auto apply without restart ?

all version of DB2 can do it ?

you mean configure everything good during installation and not going to change it anymore ?

What I meant is that Even though restart is not required for majority of the configurations, if you don't want to have frequent downtime required then consolidate all changes together.. honestly, I've never seen any environment changing these kind of settings very frequently..

yeah. me neither , but just in case.

someone very "SMART" said MySQL is good but once use it, restart everyweek ! and any change in configuration need a restart.

I ask this just in case.
