New Install of Windows 10 Pro 1709 16299.125 works but then fails to boot thereafter.
I installed Windows 10 Pro 64 1709 16299.125 on a Dell Optiplex 3010.
I removed all the partitions on the hard drive before it started (using the install DVD tools).
When done, there were two partitions.
Then I installed Windows.
The first time I did this, it seemed to work and I did quite a bit of work on the install (oops).
Then when I rebooted it, it wouldn't boot.
I tried bootrec, etc. to no avail. Nothing seems to fix this thing.
bootrec /fixboot gives access denied
I have read that 1709 has a problem in this regard and found instructions to deal with the issue.
But it talks about an EFI partition which doesn't seem present - at least with that name.
So, I have started over.
What should I be looking to do when the install is done in order to be able to boot thereafter?
The HD tests fine.
