What typeface font should I use when writing a magazine article?

What font should be used when writing a magazine article?

If the article is in print, large newspapers (Toronto Star) have studied this over time and settled on their own version of Times New Roman. So in print, Times New Roman.

On screen, sans serif is better, so Arial or Calibri are the favourites here.

Thank you John. I was using Calibri until I read articles about Garamond/Garmond and Helvetica then got all confused and frustrated.
It is for a print magazine in Detroit, MI. However, we will also have an online version of the magazine. As for the print magazine...I am much confused. I know it should be 10 pt. font. However, which type for the print magazine is what has me in search of the best.
There are a number of sans serif fonts like Helvitica. I think there were copyright issues (going from memory) so Microsoft Word changed.


I just use the newest ones that Word has, and apart from special needs that will work
Print articles should always use a version of Times New Roman. The Toronto Star, The Economist, and The New Yorker all do this.
