Even though its a valid character, not all email systems will accept that character or even acknowledge it. If you are getting an error specifically for that, then you will need to delete it for O365 to allow it. Nothing you can do about that. You can contact O365 tech support and see if they can offer any other suggestions for this to be allowed, but just know that just because it's valid doesn't mean all email systems will accept it. The same thing goes for the '&amp;' and others.

We use this character to have these distribution lists at the top of the corporate GAL.
