Barcode for carriage return/enter

Using a Datalogic Quickscan scanner, we have the default set to carriage return after each scan.  We want to leave it that way.  However, we want to create a barcode so when scanned, it does a carriage return.  The reason is a common application asks for a UPC input first.  Upon scanning it, the next field asks for quantity.  Most of the time, the user selects the default by pressing enter on the keyboard.  We just want to give them the option to scan a "return" barcode without having to touch the keyboard to press enter. Support says we have to turn off the default auto return after scan suffix for this to work.  This would mean the user would have to scan an "enter" barcode after every scan; including UPC.  What I thought would be a simple thing has turned into several dead ends.  Any help is appreciated.

Most barcode scanners come with a sheet that has the various codes you can program into the scanner. Ours for example you setup the sequence by first scanning a program barcode then the sequence of codes you want then at the end you scan the save code.

I checked the datalogic website and they do have the programing sheets but you need to have registered with them to download.
