Why can't my IPhone 6 send/receive email through my Cox account, just like my IPhone 4 does successfully?
My IPhone 4 can send and receive emails through my cox account, however,
my newly acquired IPhone 6 cannot send, nor receive emails through the cox account.
The tech support person at Cox told me what to type to set up the account. After clicking Done, I received 4 blue checkmarks indicating verification was successful. However, when I open the mail app, I receive this message:
Account error: The mail server imap.cox.net is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail settings.
I have tried both imap and pop settings, to no avail.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

John, the tech from Cox walked me through the steps. Even verified all the information. Even the IPhone verified the imap settings and gave me 4 blue check marks confirming the verification was successful.
From what I have read on many websites, this is a known problem (IPhone 6) with Cox cable, and thus far, have no solution.

OK so Cox needs to use a workaround where most of us do not

I went to a Cox Solutions store yesterday. Employees there had Androids except for one guy (Matt) who had an IPHone. Matt said there is a problem with the newer IPhones (because of a security update Cox did to there mail servers a few months ago), and gave me a solution (similar to John above) with one difference.
Instead of using the mail account app that comes with the IPhone, download the free Microsoft Outlook App from the Apple App Store. I did that, added my Cox email account, and now able to send & receive email on my IPHone 6.

Thanks for the update.
Check Host Name e.g. mail.cox, com or something like that (get from them)
user name and password.
smtp address for sending e.g. pop.cox.com (get from them)
Click on Advanced
SSL, 993 for receiving
Assuming IMAP that is all you need.
BTW, I am using an iPhone SE which is a 6s
