asked on

be prompted who can call home

https://www.cnet.com/how-to/see-which-applications-are-connecting-to-the-internet-on-windows/

I read the article from 2014 but I am looking for windows 10

Is there a program that tells me packets connecting

Not something complex like wireshark

LIke a program saying adobe/apple trying to call home and asking to update.
And I can chose to keep on using program and block internet communication.

Please dont tell me that internet communication is needed and blocking the internet communication of a few programs is dangerous.

Please note, that blocking outgoing traffic could never reliably done using a firewall at the machine where it's happening. Applications may instruct other whitelisted applications (like browsers) to get the data out and there is nothing you can do but stop using applications that are known to phone home.

zone alarm is the answer I use

I think a better computer user would use hosts file or realize that programs can use a browser.

Due to my skill level I chose zone alarm.

Thanks
