unable to reach to VM[Bridged Adapter] from other hosts on the network

unable to reach to a VirtualBox VM from outside ...viz. not able to ping to the VM.

VirtualBox : Version 5.2.12 r122591 (Qt5.6.2)

Using Bridged Adater ...on a DHCP network

VM (a windows 2012server) able to get/recieve dhcp ip address and able to ping to other hosts within the network,  also to be noted windows firewall in the vm has been allowed to communicate on both TCP/UDP for incomming traffic on all ports on the VM.

unable to ping /reach to the VM from other hosts.

Can you ping the VM from host?

ASKER

No ...but given that it is a Bridged Adapter  ...i.e. the VM is a member on the local Lan right.

it is able to obtain a DHCP ip in the Local Lan / same subnet.

but am not able to reach to the VM from outside i.e. host or other hosts on the network
if it's able to obtain a DHCP IP Address from the Local LAN, same LAN as the host, then network interface is working, and communicating as BRiDGED.

Firewalls ?
the firewall on the VM has been disabled to allow all in comming and all outgoing traffic  ...i don't see any issues  with firewall.
what error do you get, request timed out...

if you switch to NAT, as a test, does it work ?

so outgoing pings work, but no incoming pings ?
Yep Nat works.

yes outgoing ping works, but incoming pings don't work.
I only have one VM ...to be step ... as of now this is the only VM that i have ...if this succeeds i will be having more VMs to setup
Please try another test VM. (different OS)
I had put a RHEL 7  vm to test it out ...it is the same  ...the vm is able to get  DHCP ip in the subnet  ...but is not responding to ping queries from the subnet.
Uninstall and re-install Oracle Virtualbox, something is not working correctly with Bridged Networking.
I had re-installed VirtualBox as administrator still the same.
