How to increase the storage size of a SharePoint 2013 on premise site.
Using SharePoint 2013 Standard on Premise. Receiving an error when uploading files to a document library where more space is needed. I check the SharePoint server and SQL server and there is plenty of room. I have about 200 GB on the site now.  In Central Admin, Individual quota does not have any check marks in those configurations. What do I need to do to increase the storage for the site?

changed the configured individual quota up to 750GB and still received this error: "There is not enough space on https://site. You need an additional 1.95 GB to copy these files."
Do you have to restart a service for the 750GB to take effect. I do see the storage metrics and totaling all of them it gets close to a 100%. I thought it would be less since I increased the quota to 750GB. Please assist.

A few point to keep in mind:

Quotas have nothing to do with adding storage to your SQL server or your SharePoint farm. Quotas are a virtual limit of the size of the site. In other words, if you have a quota of 750 GB on a site, but only 200 GB available on the SQL server, you will only be able to have 200 GB of content in SharePoint. You may be thinking incorrectly about what the quota setting does.

The message you describes indicates that your SQL server has no more storage space available for use. Check the drive usage on your SQL server to determine if you have free space available.

Hope that helps...

< I check the SharePoint server and SQL server and there is plenty of room>
please check the your  Content Database on SQL Server size setting such as "limit data file growth

also Sharepoint has an option to store files in file system additional to sql server
check you SP setting to identify location that need extra storage or cleanup\\\\

Could you please to post the exact error that you got?

Didn't have a space issue. I made adjustments in the storage quota area and uploaded smaller chucks and that seemed to work. The first time I was uploading too much data at one time.

Have you made any adjustments to the file upload size in Central Admin? That is where you set the limit of files to be uploaded.
