Can't install program. This app may decrease PC security or performance.

Trying to install the AVAST client software on a new Windows 10 laptop.
Here is the error that Windows gives when trying to install.

Avast Endpoint Protection Suite can't run on Windows.
This app may decrease PC security or performance. Check for an updated app that runs on this version of Windows.

"Compatibility Assistant"

The check for update option just takes me to the Avast website.

The Avast client i'm trying to install is currently running on 122 copies of Windows 10, five of which are identical laptops to the one experiencing the problem, so I don't think this is an Avast issue.

I have tried to disable the program compatibility assistant, but that does nothing.
Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Paul

However, there is a new Windows 10 update out this morning. I suggest you do this update and see if it resolves your issue.

It could be, that your current windows is newer then the rest of windows installations and behaves different, couldn't it?
Please compare the output of the command
winver
to that of the other machines.
Right-click on the file and Run As Administrator
Elevated privilege
That specifically sounds like a block, and that's usually a case of an older antivirus program and a newer version of windows.  Windows 10" is not monolithic and newer versions do block problematic AV products.

Sorry the delay.  Dealing with a bigger issue.
I was able to push the install from the Avast Console. It installed without issue.
However, now when the laptop starts AvastUI.exe is not allowed to start.
Also, OneDrive.exe is not allowed to start.
There are a few others programs that it blocks occasionally during startup.
Don't have Windows 10 (yet), but now it looks as if you may have a group policy restricting certain applications from executing. You would have to make exceptions for those programs you wish to allow. It would help if you can screenshot the specific error you are receiving now.
