VDI in Vmware Horizon 7
I have one question.
I have created desktop pool for 2 virtual desktop machines. I used dedicated desktop. two virtual desktops are created successfully.
My question is. When I opened my dns and AD. there is no any record of these both Virtual machine desktops.
These Virtual machines have same name and same IP address. which I have VM template.
Both virtual desktop machines have joined the domain. How I can resolve this issue. How records will be available for these both VIrtual Desktop machines in the DNS and AD. thanks

After running the sysperp I should shutdown the computer and make a template?
ASKER
Yes

I have used sysprep but could not successful. After sysprep, I took template and create a desktop pool. When I login With the user. It shows me country name, lanuage etc after that error and system restart.
2nd my question is. What are the advantages of VDI which we create on desktop pool in horizon. why we can not use only esxi on the replacement of horizon. If we create some templates and provide them to the users With Remote desktop. I think both Things are similar.

No, the Desktop Pool settings do the heavy lifting for you, and create the VDI, sysprep them and add to domain, I'm not sure you have you pool settings correct.
that's a new question!

Hello,
These are working when I will join the domain manually.
I followed these steps:
1- I created a VM on vcenter then on BIOS setting I disabled the floppy, serial and paraller.
2- WIndows 10 installation.
3- Installed the Vmware tools on Windows 10 VM
4- View Connection agent installation
5- Set the IP address and join the domain
6- run the sysprep and shutdown the VM.
These steps are correct?

Yes, those steps are correct. But do not join domain, and leave to DHCP
BUT, when you deploy your pool, as part of the VDI creation process, it should sysprep, quickprep, and join to domain.
Have you got the Pool settings correct ?

Don't sysprep and seal your VM.
Don't add to domain

I should not join the domain before the template?
Correct.
Just create a Windows Workgroup VM, and the Pool settings will do the rest.

I will do it tomorrow. Then when i will create desktop pool. On which page I can see sysprep option. Because on the above link there is no page for sysprep.

Quickprep or Sysprep.

if you do not get 3 VDI machines with different names, and different IP Addresses, Domain Joined, Pool deployment has failed.

Instant Clones or Linked Clones is the option you need to select.
ASKER
Instant clones option is disabled and when I clicked on view composer linked clones then there is nothing to select any option. Next button is disabled

You really need to work through the entire document, how to setup your VDI environment, whether you want to use
1. Linked Clones
2. Instant Clones

2. Instant Clones

I found the problem what was the issue why instant clone option was disable. there was license issue. Now I have changed the license.
When I choose instant clones. in supported feature, quick prep and syspres is not supported. only cloneprep is supported. cloneprep is same thing like sysprep or quickprep?

Account issues, check the machine names does no exist in the domain already, delete the computer accounts
ASKER
I have deleted computer account from the active directory and dns.
Does it now, name the VDI computer correctly and add to domain ?
ASKER
I started the process and come back from the office. Tomorrow I will see. It does work or not.

Follow the guide again, and setup the pool again, it cannot access the Parent VM.

do all the hosts have access to this VM, because it would appear this is the issue, please review the troubleshooting.
