Ad Hoc WSUS
Hello I'm trying to use WSUS to update an offline machine using Ad Hoc. Not sure how to accomplish this, or if its even possible?
Thanks
Thanks

the machine in question will never connect to any network other than its own internal. I've got an WSUS server rather than going through the process of using WSUS Offline & running threw the process of checking for updates on each machine, this would not be very effective. so what I'm trying to figure out is how to get a direct connection from WSUS server to offline machines.
Is this even possible without Active Directory and Group Policies? I thought WSUS had to have the computer's account in its client list to update it.

Correct, the machine is showing up on WSUS console, just keep getting 0x80240fff error from client. Tried serveral things including renaming Software distribution directory, checked BITS service, Checked Windows update service, verified connectivity between two machines updated local policy to point to WSUS server. Not sure what else do try?
Thanks.
Thanks.
I think you will find that you need Internet capability here to do monthly and periodic updates.

The WSUS is acting as MS Update. The client will NEVER connect to external network. The issue we're having is connectivity to WSUS server. The desired connection is Ad-Hoc

You need internet to download the file and then you can try running on your machine.
Mostly, you need Internet capability to update, however.
