Outlook 2016 goes offline

We are in an Exchange email environment and have an issue on only a few (out of hundreds) of systems running Office 2016 where Outlook will just randomly go into offline mode.  It does not seem to be a case where the system is losing connection to the network.  We are aware that we can have the users toggle the Work Offline button and be back in business, but sometimes they do not notice right away that they are offline.
What can be causing it to go offline, other than losing network connection?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

remove the user email profile and let outlook create it again.
and check the solutions mentioned here https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/27986800/Outlook-2010-Intermittently-goes-into-Offline-Mode.html
Open Outlook in safe mode and check it

If it works fine then disable all add-ins and check it again in normal mode
